Richard Avedon in Milan : a retrospective
I had the chance to see the Richard Avedon retrospective exhibition in Milan last week.
Richard Avedon (1923-2004) is considered as one if the greatest photographers in the world. His work has changed the world of fashion photography. He has also done some great portraits of famous and non-famous people. These portraits are dark, emotional and intense.
The exhibition has more than 200 photos that trace M. Avedon's career from 1946 to 2004. I have particularly appreciated the large portraits of the "In the American West" series which are some of the most breath-taking portraits I have ever seen.
In milan, you can see this exhibition until june 8 at the FORMA Centro Internazionale di Fotografia, Piazza Tito Lucrezio Caro, 1, Mila, Italy. The phone number is +39 02 . 58118067.
This exhibition will then go to Paris at the Galerie Nationale du Jeu de Paume, to Berlin at the Martin-Gropius-Bau, to Amsterdam at the FOAM_Fotografiemuseum and at SFMOMA in San Francisco.
Don't miss this exhibition.
